Hello everyone!
Over the last 4 years Kid~Space has truly grown. We’ve more than doubled in size to a whopping 6,000 sq feet, added new programs like Tumbling and Hip Hop to our After School Program, and this fall our Private School (Kindle Academy) will launch grades k-8!
Through all these exciting changes our core staff has remained the same. Ms K is still on Pre K duty, getting our little ones ready for Kindergarten and making sure they have a blast doing it. She’s also the smiling face that greets you every morning for drop off on camp days. Ms Angie is back from sometime off with baby Makenna to help in the afternoons, with driving and playing. Ms Maria is busy tutoring our big kids in Math & Reading when she’s not driving them to and from school. But she is most popular for always coming up with new ways for kids to win ice pops. They love her! Ms Teresa is the homework inspector ;) making sure everyone’s assignments are completed correctly & of course offering help as needed. Ms Kayla can usually be found in the activity room keeping the peace and fun going between classes. If you need to earn tickets to play air hockey, pool or computer, see Ms Kayla, she knows how it’s done. Sempai Kris and Sempai Brian teach Tae Kwon do, facilitate dodge ball games, and pretty much keep kids entertained! Mr. D comes in two days a week to teach tumbling and hip hop dance. You wont believe how fast these kids pick up the steps!
Where did the idea for Kid~Space come from?
Kid~Space evolved from my combined love of kids & sports. We found that the after school programs and summer camps in the area were unable to meet the needs of families in facility, space and quality of the curriculum. Our goal was to design a program geared towards school-aged kids to offer them opportunities to experience a variety of activities all in the same program.
I’m a mom to two boys. I have an Associate Degree in Child Development, as well as over 20 years childcare experience. I received quite a bit of on-the-job training with sports programs while serving on Mako Soccer’s Board Of Directors for 7 years. This included implementing and running a Home-School Soccer program for 6 seasons.
We continuously add new programs and activities to keep things fresh. As our kids get older it’s all the more important to keep there focus on the positive forces in their lives. We believe Martial Arts, Dance, Community Service and having good role models will help our students get on the right track and stay there.
